Did you William? I couldn't find the existing ticket. If you would link it I can duplicate out this one.

Glad this has some traction, it would make adding wheel art from hyperspin soooooo much easier.

As long as the art is the same name as the game or the file name you can just drop all of it in to the proper system folders under the image folder in your LaunchBox install. One by one for that many games, even if there were features like the next and previous / drag and drop, would still be a nightmare. We've had users drop packs of images and video from where ever they got them right in to the appropriate folders all the time, again given the names are correct.

Of course if the art is the same it will work. This I realize, I know your trying to be helpful and it is appreciated but I have to wonder who has their roms named exactly like some random images in a zip file? The images don't even follow standard rom naming format. i.e. GoodTools. Renaming each .zip or .nes file by hand to match the wheel pack image's name is more of a nightmare imo then dragging a file to the window -> press next -> repeat. Next button eliminates 3 clicks from every entry. That's a lot of wasted time when its all said and done.

And that is why it selects the game name or file name. For example, if you downloaded a Media pack for MAME it would be named exactly like the roms, and people to make sets for No-Intro sets and other sets like that out there, so it's not unheard of. It was just an alternative suggestion. :P

MAME is sort of a bad example because those roms MUST have a specific file name.

I'm talking about if I download "ExampleGame (198X)(publisher)(country)[!].nes" and for some reason, because it's and obscure game from Japan the cover does not download. So I hop on the internet and find the cover and download it to /images/nes/front_cover folder but because its named "cover.jpg" or more realistically "8fdh6s0dgfkjs78jfcjdl_cover.jpg" it doesn't work with launchbox because it does not have the same name. So I have to manually go in and edit the name making sure its exactly the same as the ROM.

I was fortunate to partially grew up lots in Japan so random Famicom games I remember fondly. Understandably, LaunchBox does not always find all the art, etc. The above example is my everyday. This can't be more than a few hours of coding, can it?

    Thanks for listening

Well again, I'm not saying this wouldn't happen, I didn't want you to think my responses were a no. It was just an alternative. :P

that would be sooo cool and the benefits would be a faster editing Database plus a better growing GamesDB with the help of the great Database Plugin

Yeah, it helps with iTunes. I've basically stopped editing the info by hand if it's not auto-populated which is often because i play a lot of rom hacks and translations. It's too much of a time sink, to do it by hand if you have to close the window, click on the next game, click edit, fill in the info, etc. etc I'm not a programmer (unless you count BASIC, lol) so I could be wrong, it just seems trivial to add and if it hasn't been added yet, I don't see it being added.
