peptigram for non-UniProt proteins
Issue #26
new
Dear Jean,
is there a way to use peptigram for non-UniProt proteins. so e.g. for phage-encoded ones, or also for recombinant proteins that aren't part of UniProt.
so is there a way to provide a fasta-file instead to get the peptide profile or peptide alignment map? Think that would be super nice.
All the best from Salzburg, u

Hello Ulrich,
Thanks for your interest,
Sadly no, it's not possible. At the beginning we decided of the project to use ProViz (that I was helping to develop at the same time), and ProViz doesn't allow to easily use of non-uniprot protein sequences and for other reasons (time, resources, simplicity, etc.) we decided not to support this feature.
For the moment I'm focusing on finishing my PhD and don't have the time to overhaul completely the project. If one day I get some funding to build Peptigram v2, it's definitively something I would implement.
