it might be cool to add the feature to make it possible to watch the status of submitted jobs (like elapsed time since submission, estimated time/date of completion and "running" vs "waiting")

yes, it's definitely something that I will implement when I will rewrite the whole data extraction / storage part, unfortunately it's not possible at the moment.
