Find/Select dialog requires pressing Return twice to close dialog in Big Sur

First Return closes the editor, second closes the dialog and initiates the search.

Only one Return is required when using Sierra. Not sure what version of macOS started this problem.

This appears to be magically fixed, perhaps in changing to the 10.16 SDK.
