Intermittent ServerPingReply error when performing new generation?

Added extra error checking on the serverPingReply variable, hopefully fixes issue #1225.

I could not duplicate this problem or see a reason for this, but Panorama does ping the server once per second when the New Generation panel is open (so that it can warn the user in case the server goes offline). So it is possible that this error could appear without affecting the new generation.
