More problems with step debugging

Issue #560 new
William Conable created an issue

I was trying to step through the following code:

local lvFirst,lvLast,lvName,lvTarget
lvName=""
lvFirst=""
lvLast=""
lvTarget=""
gettext "Enter First and Last Names separated by a space", lvName
lvFirst=strip(lvName[1," "])
lvLast=strip(lvName[" ",-1])
lvTarget=superlookup("",{«First Name»=lvFirst and «Last Name»=lvLast},{Address+", "+City+", "+State})
if error
    AddRecord
    «First Name»=lvFirst
    «Last Name»=lvLast
    FullName=lvFirst+lvLast
    Stop
endif
<more stuff>

When I try to step through this code, I get through the 4 assignments with the variable content reported as expected at the bottom of the window, and then nothing more, i.e., the gettext is not executed. The next command-D step takes me back to line 1.

When I actually run the code, it works as expected.

[When I pasted this in, it was nicely formatted with separate lines and indents; when it's posted, it's all run together. What have I forgotten about the backtick syntax?]
