It's been a hard four years here in Toronto, grinding away at my job, saving money, held steady on a relationship that doesn't have a present or a future - and I've pretty much spent every penny I earned - in the last five months I've spent about 10k - 4k for my certificate program, 2k for the ride to conquer cancer, another 1k for my bike - and 2-3k for general living + rent. I've eaten all my traveling money - and I don't really regret it. I am trying to write something about my ride - and it will begin with the story of how Jack Layton retroactively inspired me - he fought his last battles at the Princess Margaret Hospital Cancer wing - and that is the same institution that I've spent my piggy bank money, blood and sweat supporting. My church is in Jack Layton's home riding - and while this year he wasn't at our Easter service, a member of our church choir (Joy) sang O'Canada at his funeral service.

-It's an honour to be able to be here in Toronto - talking to Junhee about her travels in South America - to have a place to belong - I am sorry for myself that I haven't been able to travel - to visit my grandparents - but we have choices we made - and sometimes, we have to stand by the choices we make.

I have a violin that my grandpa bought for me and I bought an electric pickup for it - so it's now an electro-acoustic violin. I can plug it into speakers and it rocks - I can plug it into my computer and record it.
