Issue #48 resolved

Hi John,

We normally write to you to report problems with Microblocks system. But this time I wanted to provide feedback on the new release and how well it functions in terms of connectivity. My environment is WIN10 + Chrome.

Once the firmware is loaded to the micro;bit the detection and connection is immediate. Also, cable disconnect / reconnects and Microbocks program termination and restart establishes the connectivity right away. Very different than the previous experience I had with 0.2.7 and before. very comforting to see the GREEN circle pop up around the connector icon automatically.

One thing I noticed on the command window is that when the system started up the display said:

SDL2 headers: 2.0.7; lib: 2.0.7

Maybe it’s nothing, but is it OK to see 2.0.7 messages while running 2.0.8 ?

Final question: Where do I submit a small game I wrote for micro:bit + microblocks combo? It is a mini version of the popular Breakout game.

Thanks for the improvements.

First, I’m glad its working better on Win10. We have Bernat to thank for that fix.

You can safely ignore that SDL2 message. The SDL2 graphics library is linked into MicroBlocks, so even if you’ve got SDL2 2.0.8 installed for other purposes (e.g. PyGame), MicroBlocks will use it’s own built-in version. I sometimes needed to revert to older versions of SDL2 to work around bugs. That message helps me keep track of which version is being used.

Just email it to us at interest at microblocks.fun. Thanks!
