ESP8266, LOLIN 8266, WEMOS D1mini RESET makes Command window go away.

Issue #95 resolved
Turgut Guneysu created an issue

These boards load firmware manually without a problem. They were loaded with latest firmware vm.ino.nodemcu.bin of release 3.6.

They disconnect and connect from the IDE without a problem.

However, while USB shows connected (GREEN Circle), if one presses the RESET button, they display some error messages and then the command window goes away. This is observed in microBocks ver 2.3 onwards in every release under WIN 10 Home Edition.

If the devices are showing USB not connected (no GREEN Circle), then the errors do not happen and the command window stay.

Upon re-connection, everything operates correctly, until the next RESET.

When the command window is gone, the microBlocks IDE keeps on operating without a problem.

Here is the command window errors:

When the the ESP is reset, the ESP operating system spits out some text. I’m guessing that some character in that text is causing the Command window to disappear on Windows. Since we can’t change what the ESP board does on reset or how the Terminal window works, I don’t see a way to fix this problem.

Fortunately, since MicroBlocks continues to operate, this is only a minor inconvenience. Marking this as “resolved”.
