NCC tool vs. Non-copper regions

Issue #353 resolved

Hi again,

here is a suggestion: it would be nice to have access to the tool list from the NCC tool. Additionally, the Non-copper regions tool does not work any more, it just adds the outline geometry but one cannot set islands to be cleared by clicking the mouse button as this option has vanished from the geometry object tool when compared to v8.5. Maybe the latter one could be grandfathered, or am I missing something?

    Hi,

Once you create a non-copper region, you will see indeed the geometry outlining the Gerber features. After you create it you select the new Geometry Object and then you have access to the Paint Tool. Either through the link in the Geometry Object UI or in the toolbar, or in the menu or through shortcut key (ALT+P).

After that, in Paint Tool you select: “Polygon Selection” and then you click on it and if you’are happy with it (it will color in blue previewing the actual painting) you right click and the magic starts.

When you say tool list in NCC Tool you are referring to Tool Database?

Ahh, okay, so I missed something. Thanks.

Yes it would be nice if the NCC tool had access to the Tool Database. The NCC tool is the one I will use the most to generate toolpaths for direct laser exposure. By the way, what does C1 - C4 mean in the lool list mean, I expect all of them resemble circular shape but what is the difference?

The difference is None (from the point of view of software). It’s just a reminder that the circular tool has to have 1 …4 teeth.
