Distribution Groups Not Displaying in To field

Hello,

When I am viewing my emails on the search page the To field is populated with the first user in the distribution group list instead of the distribution group name. When I select the email and look in the message viewer the distribution group name is populated. Is it possible to get the group name populated in the To field?

The problem is that piler stores both to and cc addresses in the rcpt table, and treats them as “recipients”, and then picks the first from the list and displays it in the To field of the upper pane.

Assuming that you use ldap or AD, it might be possible to distinguish between the emails coming from the user’s ldif and the email coming from the distribution list’s ldif entries. Can you send me (see piler -V for my email) 2 ldif files, one for a user and one for a distribution list?

However, what if an email is sent to a user’s email, and a distribution list is in the Cc: field?
