IMAP authentication against office 365

I setup IMAP authentication using https://www.mailpiler.org/wiki/current:office365 It was working previously but it no longer works. What logs can I check?

ok found it in maillog. Error is:

Apr 5 11:56:28 piler piler-webui[29875]: username=user1, event='login failed', ipaddr=172.18.21.165

Can I get more detail on this?

Connect to outlook.office365.com with an imap client (perhaps using the CLI), and check if the given account and password are able to login. You may use either pilerimport or even openssl s_client -connect outlook.office365.com:993 if you are familiar with the imap protocol. Also it’s worth to check if any authentication related o365 policy has changed.

I think this is because of MFA. I’ll setup a conditional access rule in Azure allowing a location to not apply MFA and see if that works.
