Supplying Parameters in URL

Is it possible to supply login and search parameters with a URL to display the results. For example from out intranet I would create a search box and send information to display your results page?

Hmm, I think there must be a way to accomplish this, but how will you provide login parameters? I don't think it's a good idea to put passwords to search links, and I doubt that you know you users' passwords.

Others asked me to update the piler webui to support single sign-on. With a similar feature your users may able to login to your (I guess) windows network, then they don't have to provide any password to piler.

However I don't have experience in this field, so I could use some help, if you accept this direction and if you are familiar how to make single sign-on work.
