Yes i loaded the image on that page need to know what the next steps are to tie it with my exchange server does this use some kind of basic html template or do we build our own?

If it is vmware image it is preinstalled. Did you set a domain name from your dns server? Do you have basic linux knowledge? if so, follow the instructions in README under /root. Just connect to the mailpiler server with putty or other client over ssh. In readme file, there are file paths which must be edited according to your domain name. I advice you to fix the timezone both in php config file and debian. If you read and apply each step on page http://www.mailpiler.org/en/vmware-image.html you will easily configure the mailpiler. I just installed mailpiler one week ago and it seems not complicated with my limited linux knowledge. OR you can consider to buy installation service from Janos the owner.

repo owner Huhh, a month later I'm not sure. I believe there must have been some minor post configuration or something. If you have trouble, then find me on skype (janos.suto), and I may help you.
