Mail Piler Integration with Zimbra [Version 8.0.7_GA_6021.FOSS Apr 8, 2014]

Issue #647 invalid
VIJAY NAVALE created an issue

WE ARE NOT GETTING MAILS ON MAILPILER

We have successfully installed Mail Piler 1.1.1 with SMTP status piler:ok and smarthost:ok on 192.168.0.102

in our zimbra mail server hosted on 192.168.0.10 we have created new user : archival@shirke.co.in. and in /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/main.cf we have created 2 entires :-

sender_bcc_maps = hash:/opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/sender_bcc recipient_bcc_maps = hash:/opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/recipient_bcc

in both the files i.e.sender_bcc and recipient_bcc we have mapped the selected users we want to archive as follows:-

abc@shirke.co.in archival@shirke.co.in xyz@shirke.co.in archival@shirke.co.in mno@shirke.co.in archival@shirke.co.in

After that we have checked the mails in archival@shirke.co.in. and we found the same is working fine and all the mails were available in archival@shirke.co.in

we have configured mailpiler with imap authentication in config.php and also logged in to the archival.shirke.co.in as imap user.

Please let me know where to configure the archival@shirke.co.in in mailpiler config.php and config-site.php to have a Integration with Zimbra Mail Server.

I am attaching herewith the config.php and config-site.php file for your ready reference.

Please help

I think that the easiest approach is if you configure the following in in both recipient and sender bcc maps:

    abc@shirke.co.in archive@archival.shirke.co.in

Thus zimbra will deliver these emails to piler promptly, and you don't need the newly created user (=archival@shirke.co.in). However if you insist on the imap import, then you should create a cron job to get emails from this mailbox. Note that smtp delivery is more efficient.

For the gui authentication I can see that you have enabled imap authentication. Note that, however, you shouldn't change config.php, instead all local settings should go to config-site.php.

yes it is a improper configuration as suggested to map abc@shirke.co.in archive@archival.shirke.co.in I had done that but still I am not getting the mails on mailpiler and the sender to abc@shirke.co.in is receiving the bounce as NO SUCH DOMAIN

please help me with proper configuration

Check if you can ping or telnet to port 25 to archival.shirke.co.in. It must have a working domain name resolution.

  4. Janos SUTO repo owner

ok, then check the mail logs on both piler and zimbra. You should see some status=stored entires on the piler side.

OK, show me the zimbra logs, and verify that it actually sends emails to the piler host.

My Zimbra Mail Server delivers the mail to abc@shirke.co.in but bounces back from archive@archival.shirke.co.in [suggested by you] to the sender stating that No SUCH DOMAIN

please help me on configuration part

    Hi Jsuto,

Do you have any suggestions on how to configure zimbra to bypass emails incoming and outgoing? Zimbra will block the messages to unknown domain

  8. Janos SUTO repo owner

I don't follow, please clarify your problem. Also I'm not sure where an unknown domain comes into play.

These are Zimbra configuration issues. Zimbra uses postfix so it's pretty simple to reconfigure the mail delivery route and settings
