BCC not visible & Formatting concern

Issue #726 invalid
Kevin Sanghvi created an issue

Hello,

First of all Thank you very much, Mail Piler is altogether a really nice server to archive emails.

We have a working version of Mail Piler to archive emails from Google Apps for Work for our customer, it's installed on Ubuntu machine. After initial testing, we are facing following concerns :

1) BCC field is not visible on GUI. As per this FAQ - it's related to Open LDAP or AD : http://www.mailpiler.org/wiki/current:piler-basics?s[]=bcc

2) HTML formatting for e.g. Table edges are getting stripped on GUI. Is there a way we can tweak Email body.

Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Kevin

    1. There's no Bcc field in the GUI, because the Bcc: header is removed by the first smtp server. The docs doesn't say it's related to AD or LDAP. It's related to the smtp protocol.

    2. Note that the preview pane is not meant to be a full blown webmail. It should provide a peek or similar to the message. model/search/message.php removes a great deal of stylesheets from the message, you may check it, and fix it if necessary.

Anyway I'm glad that you like piler.

Hello Janos. Thanks for the revert.

Please let me know if there's a way to add Bcc header on GUI.

    Thanks, Kevin

I don't think it's possible. Piler adds all recipients to the To: group in the upper (search results) pane. In the lower (preview) pane - as I explained - you won't find any Bcc addresses, since the first smtp server removes them from the mail headers.
