CFlow / Usability Testing aggregation

Overall

  • Colors are not consistent and sometimes confusing
  • Paths are overwhelming and confusing
  • Heatmap performed very well
  • Store names blend in with background
  • Control panel was simple once the user found the toggle between foottraffic and profit

Task 1 - Basic Navigation

  • Users seemed to have difficulty noticing the toggle between customer data in the heat map and profit data
  • Overall users seemed to have an easy time identifying which store was which in both our heatmap and floorplan
  • Users tended not to use our current implementation of paths for this project, instead relied on heatmap
  • When a user would attempt to use paths, they'd become confused about directonality

Task 2 - Detail

  • The heatmap was very successful for discerning detail at a requested time. After task 1, users instinctively knew to check the heatmap for this data
  • Some users pointed out that our color scale was too similar, difficult to discern similar values
  • Users requested additional time controls on the actual path data here We are beginning to see that our current implementation of paths is not terribly useful

Task 3 - Ad Placement

  • Again for task 3 we saw users choosing the heatmap as their informative tool over our current implementation of path mapping
  • Users made minimal use of the current path information saying that it was confusing and cluttered, didn't provide usable information.
  • All users chose the middle of the map as their location at 4pm. For time they used the heat map, for location they used the heat map combined with the paths. Feedback suggested that the paths were mostly confusing.
