Lag Opening Summary Page w/Money Foresight

Issue #18 new
Art-in-Cali created an issue

Hi Kevin,

I have Money Foresight docked in my Home Page (Now called Summary Page in MD 2015). With MD 2014/Forecaster whenever I switched to that page it would open very fast. Now in MD2014, it will take 4 or 5 seconds to refresh. Without Money Foresight docked, it refreshes reasonably fast (fraction of a second). I know 4 or 5 seconds doesn't seem like a lot, but it can start bugging you after switching back and forth a bunch of times.

I should also mention that this is with the Forecast set for 1 year. If I back this down to 1 month, refresh is much faster (almost the same as without Foresight docked). My comparison, though, with 2014 and 2015, is for the same interval (1 year).

Can you tell if this is an issue with Moneydance or with Money Foresight (i.e., did something change the way it refreshes over the old Forecaster)? I'm going to guess it's an MD issue based on all the other problems that 2015 seems to have added, but I just thought it would be worthwhile to bring it to your attention.

I'm using MD 2015 build 1171 as of writing this. Running on Mac OS X 10.10.2.

Thanks,

Art

    Hi Art,

Thanks for bringing this up. It sounds like MD 2015 is doing something differently to 2014 because I haven't changed anything in the Forecaster that would cause this slowdown to appear. Having said that, it is still something that I can probably fix.

I logged this issue quite a while ago but couldn't justify putting the time into it when it was a free product.

BTW, for me, 4 or 5 seconds can seem like an eternity sometimes so it's definitely something I want to improve. I'm going to change the issue type to enhancement and increase the priority a little.

    Thanks again for reporting.

Thanks Kevin. I'm going to submit a support request with IK just to see if they have an explanation.
