New Spaces cannot be created after uninstalling Glossary

Issue #61 resolved
Former user created an issue

Hello,

I was testing some Glossary-AddOns from the Atlassian Marketplace and noticed that after uninstalling yours, new spaces cannot be created anymore. When clicking the "Create Space"-button, Confluence shows the error message "An unknown server error has occurred." Reinstalling your AddOn makes it possible to create spaces again, but we have decided to use a different Glossary-AddOn, so we need to uninstall yours. We are running Confluence 6.15.2 Please assist.

Thanks and best regards

Martin

That is curious. I won't be able to test anything till this evening. The uninstall process is owned by Confluence itself. My plugin provides a special zip file with all of the contents and Confluence loads and unloads it.

My belief is that when a plugin is removed, all of it's contents are deleted. So, I'm guessing that Confluence or your browser is holding onto to some bit of the plugin.

My first though would be to remove the plugin, open a new browser (or open an incognito window with Chrome) so that you know it doens't have the glossary javascript bits loaded and see if you can create a space.

The other options is more drastic, but restarting Confluence to make sure all traces of the plugin have been removed may also fix the issue.

    Hello Scott,

I have already tried restarting Confluence, unfortunately that didn't fix the issue. I have also just now tried to use an icognito window but that didn't help either.

Reading this page made me try reinstalling your AddOn. It looks like it contains information on the cause of the issue, but I'm not a developer, so I'm not entirely sure. The page also links to another page that instructs to drop some database tables in order to be able to create spaces again, but I'm not very comfortable with trying this solution.

    Best regards

    Martin
