Very poor performance of 2.4GHz and freezes on 5GHz at Netgear R6300v2
two issues at the price of one:
2.4GHz
In the same conditions, channel, device and its position, at 2.4GHz:
V1.0.4.34_10.0.92 netgear firmware: ~40Mbit/s download & ~25Mbit/s upload;
freshtomato 2019.1.015-beta-aio: ~4Mbit/s download & ~9Mbit/s upload;
(my ISP provides me 50 Mbit/s download & 25Mbit/s upload, so upload result on stock firmware is limited by ISP)
5GHz
Download from external HDD connected to the router via USB 3.0 (samba, 5GHz): sometimes speed drops to 0, and after a short period of time jumps to normal, and in rare cases, download interrupts with a network error. I can't reproduce this issue via an ethernet connection, so I think this issue relates to wifi, rather than to samba. Also, I think that this is firmware related because on stock firmware I have not experienced such behavior

should be fixed with next release. Wifi parameter have been adjusted.

please test latest beta 220

reporter should I erase NVRAM after installing beta 220 and before testing?
-
reporter without erasing the second issue is still present. maybe it occurs less often, not sure though

You need to erase nvram, no way around it. 2019.3 is a mega update. You can not use a backup. Please do a full nvram erase (thorough). After that enter your settings

reporter okay, so I’ve erased NVRAM and set up everything as it was before. after erasing:
2.4GHz seems to work much better, I would call it fixed) thank you)
I can’t test in same exact conditions as it was in February, but before erasing I had smth about 15 MBit/s download and 20 MBit/s upload, and now it is around 70/24, which corresponds to my ISP limits (70/25)
5GHz issue is still present. I’m not sure but it feels like it is less intrusive now. speed drops are mostly from 24-28MB/s to 5-10MB/s, and only sometimes to 0

Starting with this version you have new advanced wifi options. Try to play with implicit beamforming, air time fairnes, turbo quam. Maybe your client/combination does not like implicit/universal beamforming. Please test. Maybe try also a different country for testing, SG (Singapore) for example
