Is it not permitted to put a \ref or other command in \pdfmarkupcomment ?

Hello,

I'd like to use \pdfmarkupcomment command with latexdiff to show the changes of my document. However, if there is a \ref command in \pdfmarkupcomment the compiling will fail. For example,

\pdfmarkupcomment[id=300,subject={highlight},color=yellow,opacity=1.0,markup=Highlight]{Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet \ref{sec:intro}, consectetuer adipiscing elit. }

How can I compile such a file?
