So, I used the debugger successfully before (and found the critical bug that was bothering me since yesterday). Then I restarted ST and it suddenly stopped working with this error message and exception:

error: You have to install winpdb graphical python debugger
for your configured python interpreter (b'c:\\Python27\\python.exe\r\n').

NameError: global name 'exe' is not defined

That looks like a weird exception to me. Also, there is definitely no "\r\n" in my settings file, it might also cause the issue.
