Duplicate attendees

Hi,
We’ve noticed that in some cases some attendees get duplicated in the attendee list. They are not aware themselves of joining multiple times (and that shouldn’t be possible). This is especially an issue when it’s an event with a max amount of attendees because the duplicate attendees do get counted towards the max.
I also don’t think there’s a way to manually change the attendees as an event leader (that could be a work around to get rid of the duplicates).
Any idea what could cause this and/or is there anything you need to look into this?
