Why we don't index using musicbrainz_collate()?

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason why we don't create indexes using the musicbrainz_collate() function?

You can of course do that, but mbslave is most often used by people who want to use the MB database just to get the data out of it, so the instructions in README are created to help set up the DB without any unnecessary step. Compilation of the extensions complicates things and people usually do not need them.
