Request: Messages App compresses image heavily regardless of max size setting

Currently, even with the Sense Toolbox mod to adjust the maximum MMS size, the messages app continues to compress the image at a ridiculous rate. Examples are, I can try and send a message and it will compress down to 70k/1000k. I still have plenty of room to attach a lot more images, but I would like to send the one picture at max quality that the carrier will allow. Please make an adjustment to reduce the level of compression that the Messages app is using by default.

I wonder if this is something that HTC only bakes in to certain ROMs? I have seen numerous complaints from M7 and M8 users on AT&T, Sprint, and TMobile in the US.

Specifically, this is the ROM that I am using right now on an M8:

Because: 1. I have M7 2. It's international without such bug 3. I don't really care about MMS :)
