Buttons backlit even when screen off

Hello,
I noticed since the previous update that the hardware buttons on my HTC One (M7) remain lit even when I turn off the phone. Setting the backlight to "Always off" in Various Mods solves this issue, but then again when I turn on the screen, the buttons don't light up.
The phone is running MaximusHD 44 ROM.

Just did a couple of full restarts, including a complete shutdown + a minute off + power up. I even disabled another Xposed module (NoLockHome) which I thought might be interfering somehow - no luck. The buttons are still on.
My Sense Toolbox version is 1.4.2.

Is dynamic backlight option selected? Logcat/Xposed logs could be useful too.

No problems in Xposed log (except errors in AppOps module :)), but logcat is too small, looks like it was taken without using root so it's incomplete.

There might be such bug, but it should be gone after full reboot. I also fixed the problem with backlight in 1.4 so it should apply brightness just fine. Mod also have an additional code that forces backlight to turn off with the screen.
