HTC One M8 Sense 6 App Colors not applying

I am running the latest 4.4.4 update on my Verizon HTC One M8. I am trying to change the color on some included apps (Mail, Messages, Dialer, etc.) and the colors are not applying. It looks like it worked on BlinkFeed and TV, but not on the above named apps.

Sense themes are not supported on 4.4.4, and I don't know if they ever would.
