AOSP recent apps doesn't always show

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open any app.
2. Go to launcher by pressing the Home button.
3. Press the Recent Apps button.
4. Press the Home button while on the recent apps list.
5. Press recent apps button. <-- the status bar turns black and then semi-transparent again, doesn't show recent apps list
6. Press recent apps button again. <-- works fine

Note that, when the recent apps button works as expected, the status bar turns black right before showing the recent apps. The status bar is semi-transparent on the launcher.

This only happens with the AOSP recent apps. The Sense recent apps always works fine.

I'm using an HTC One X (international) running ARHD 33.1 and Sense 5 Toolbox 3.0.0.
