Saving multiple versions, i.e. every few minutes if something has changed, or every N edits, would be good, but most importantly just saving the latest version (debounced so it’s not saving constantly if you make a ton of rapid edits) and some way of opening (recovering) it in the UI

resolved on version 2019-06-21 The core mechanisms seems ok. Should have backups every 5min. The dialog offering recovery is too stubborn, and the backup folder needs to be cleaned up but the current implementation should avoid most data loss.
