\n no longer works in Evil substitution

created an issue

I used to be able to mark a region, then :'<,'>s/ */\n/g and it would split my spaces into newlines. It no longer works. I bisected it to this commit:

    Support vim style magic characters in patterns and replacements

    Magic characters are now transformed in a generic way to Emacs
    patterns/replacements. Whether a certain magic character requires a
    backslash is determined by the `evil-magic' customization variable.

    This fixes #212.
