it looks like evil doesn't remember the last search, so you can't use the shorthand :%s//foo/g to replace.
Do you use the Evil search module? If not, try M-x customize-variable RET evil-search-module RET and select "Evil interactive search". This search module provides much more Vimish features than the default module, including s//foo.
