truncation of date

If there's a date (of creation) present like 00:11, 1 January 2000 (UTC), add_information only takes month and year and not the day, let alone time and timezone identifier. I wonder if this is intentional, but I'd expect the tool to only sort the existing information in this case and keep the full precision of the date/timestamp that obviously somebody wanted to have there.
