BaGLAMa: Compare statistics of one particular dataset to overall trends

It would be great to have an indication of overall trends to compare the graph concerning a particular Commons category against – that might help in identifying artefacts that concern one particular dataset.

The difficulty of this is that the overall trends will vary for each dataset: some set of images may be used primarily on the French Wikipedia, another on the German, and so on. Would you just overlay a graph of the total pageviews on all Wikimedia projects? An easy solution would be to graph the ratio monthly pageviews of the current set / of all the sets summed, which would tell how good the work on that category is proceeding compared to the others (but comparisons over time may be hard if a big dataset is added).
