Increase speed or reduce freeze of Glamorous results
Issue #46
new
I love Glamorous, but it usually freezes my browser whilst the pages are loading.* I'm wondering if there are any simple tweaks, that would help? Perhaps decreasing the number of default results from 1,000 to 100 might work? If so, would it be easy to add pagination so that the other 900 results could still be accessed?
I'd like to promote the usage of Glamorous a lot more, e.g. by adding it to the text at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Listfiles-summary (the description at the top of https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles ). But hopefully there are some easy performance improvements that could be done, before we propose that?
- E.g. this page takes about 30 seconds to load, and Firefox46 on Ubuntu is frozen during that time: http://tools.wmflabs.org/glamtools/glamorous.php?doit=1&username=JJ+Harrison&use_globalusage=1&ns0=1&show_details=1&projects[wikipedia]=1&projects[wikimedia]=1&projects[wikisource]=1&projects[wikibooks]=1&projects[wikiquote]=1&projects[wiktionary]=1&projects[wikinews]=1&projects[wikivoyage]=1&projects[wikispecies]=1&projects[mediawiki]=1&projects[wikidata]=1&projects[wikiversity]=1
