We have a publicly available API that supports URL requests (as well as PMID PMC and DOI) for structured citation metadata here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/api/rest_v1/#!/Citation/getCitation

It would be great if support for citoid was added to this tool.

Update: the new version of sourcemd now supports adding books by ISBN! @mvolz perhaps the improvements address your needs as well?
