[QuickStatements] statements with source property add the property as a qualifier not a reference

Statements like Q469865 P214 "72191987" S143 Q565 add a property and a source; however the "source" property P143 is added as a qualifier (see https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q25932939&type=revision&diff=371184996&oldid=371184993) instead of as a reference as requested in P143 documentation.

I am not sure if this request is for P143 only or for all "source" properties (maybe they should be renamed "reference" properties?)

Just to make it more confusing I just tried "Q1587522 P214 "65202258" S143 Q565" code and it worked correctly adding P143 to the Reference section. "Q21497641 P1472 "A.A. Lamb" S143 Q565" also worked fine .

So I am not sure how I got "Q25932939 P1472 "Alois Greil" S143 Q565" code to give me this earlier
