Issue #643 new

Repository Notifications

Carlo Camerino
created an issue

hi,

I have this use case, when we commit to a certain version or milestone, I want the people in my team to pull from this repository. usually, this instruction is done via email or verbally.

Is there anyway that I can notify certain people or groups that a change has happened in my repository..

It's a sort of please pull from my repository notification.

Example:

"Version 2 of project is pushed, please pull from this repository"

This will be sent to the inboxes of people involved.

I think given the notification and email capabilities of Rhodecode, this would be a nice feature to have.

Thanks!

Why don't you use rcextension hooks for that ? you can build a logic in the post push hooks that will send emaIl notification when certain push conditions happens ?

    hmm ill check that out...

i was kinda looking at something that i manually trigger.

a function on screen that will allow me to send message to followers rather than something triggered by a push.

    thanks

yes thanks! that would be really nice.

    I was thinking like,

--> Send A Message To Repository Followers --> Announce To Followers

Some sort of acknowledgement would be nice to have as well :)

In our workflow, we often have the gatekeeper telling developer's to push.
