Previous "Characters Remaining" shown in New Post until text is entered.

I posted twice in a row, and when I entered into the New Post page the "Characters Remaining" number was the same as the number of characters that I left unused in the first post. I fear I'm not being clear enough, so here is an example:

Write post that uses 255 characters. There is one character that you didn't use. Post it. Tap the pencil icon to create a new post again. Look at characters remaining. It says "1."
