Refresh upon startup?

At the moment, Tentr on my device requires me to open the app, wait for it to load (none of my new feed posts yet), pull to refresh, wait for it to load, and then (finally) see my new posts.

I'm not sure if it is supposed to be like this, or if this is a bug, but if that is expected behaviour, I think it would be a 1000x better user experience if the app refreshed upon start-up.
