Landscape posting crash

Sometimes when I make a post in landscape mode the app stays in landscape but switches back to the portrait view of the app.
What I see is half of the screen (when it happened just now it was the left half, closer to the home button) displaying the app horizontally (as if I were holding the device on its side, in landscape) in the regular-width display mode (portrait).
The app displays like this for a few seconds and then crashes. I imagine it could also be just that the app is freezing when switching from the landscape mode back to portrait.
