can't run, can't uninstall Patchblocks 0.5.0 (Win 8.1)

Hi,

I downloaded and installed Patchblocks Beta 0.5.0 for Windows. As the last step of the install, where it starts Patchblocks and shows the readme... it just hung - spinning icon.

I tried a couple more times to run, even restarted the PC before trying... same result: trying to run Patchblocks.exe... just the spinning icon. I can't even run the uninstaller for v 0.5.0... it also just sits and spins.

Prior to this, I've successfully installed and run v.0.4.0 and earlier versions.

Please tell me how to clean up and try a fresh install, or how to revert to v.0.4.0

HI ,sorry to hear that you have encountered such issues. Just let me know at first - did you run uninstaller for version 0.4.0 before installing 0.5.0 ? Are you logged in as administrator ?

I confess - I don't think I uninstalled 0.4.0 before trying to install 0.5.0 (into a different directory). Once I discovered problems, then I uninstalled 0.4.0, and that seemed to complete successfully. I ran the 0.5.0 installer again, and tried to run 0.5.0...with no success, and as I mentioned the 0.5.0 uninstaller doesn't work either.

So... how should I proceed from here to have a successful 0.5.0 install?

And yes I have admin rights, but I wasn't explicitly running the install/uninstall as admin; they prompt for admin confirm during install, yes?

Yeah you should uninstall previous version first (as is written in README file), there are some registry issues on windows and our new installer. We are gonna address that for the new update. As for now it would be helpful to clean registry manually ;/
