Commands in the nether sometimes do not work.

Issue #48 closed
Ben theschlozmeister created an issue

For some players at different times, commands will not work in the nether. You will be able to see the 'Poof' if you try to jump to, for example, but you won't actually go anywhere. This is the same for other commands such as ascend and descend.

Please specify which donor level this has occurred to. Anyone below a Nether rank does not get the permissions to use commands in the nether

"Sometimes" is not very helpful. Please list the exact steps required to reproduce this situation, including:

    • Username
    • Exact server time (so we can check logs)
    • Location (exact coordinates); if jumptoing, exact coordinates of target block
    • Command that failed, exactly as entered with all parameters
    • Any commands used prior to that in the last 60 seconds

Without this kind of info, we have absolutely no way of addressing the issue.

Please be aware that any jumpto, ascend or descend that would take you outside the world (or above the nether ceiling) will not work; are you sure it's not just that mechanism in action?

On Wednesday evening, at around 7pm (give or take an hour, sorry for the vagueness), WaffleNomster and I observed that our commands in the nether did not seem to work (we are both nether level donors). Even though we were above the Nether Ceiling at one point, I came down again to go back through a portal at 394, 61 744 in the nether, and my jumpto would not work, as described when I created the issue.

    I hope some of this helps… >.>

Thanks for the details, but i don't really feel like manually skimming through "give or take an hour" of logs looking for aberrant errors - the period you describe covers 3769 log lines.

Please provide exact steps to reproduce this bug, and when you succeed in reproducing it please provide the above details with exact time and date and block locations so we can cross-check for meaningful interactions. Otherwise all we have to work with is the digital equivalent of "sometimes my car won't start" but without being able to see the car.

This sounds like it was from using commands on bedrock. If I recall correctly using a command in the nether that would put you above the nether roof will say "poof" but not transport you there.
