It works, but in a confusing way: I can paste the copy only in Emacs with Ctrl-y. I can live with it, but I’m curious.

It can be some general problem with clipboard(s) in Linux. C-v pasts it into the Firefox address fields, but not to a terminal nor to the Emacs buffer. In principle it should be clear how to paste it into any text or spreadsheet,
