Issue #74 duplicate

login returns to login page

created an issue

I am on about my tenth attempt at getting this to work, starting from the very beginning in various orders of operations. When I use Google Chrome or Apple's Safari browser, I have issue #69, but when I use Mozilla Firefox, the problem is different. Here, when I try to login using the username and password admin/admin, I am returned to the login page again in a seemingly unending loop. The installation seems to work perfectly every time, with no errors. I've used a variety of FTP clients and operating systems to complete the installation, file edits and database creations. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Try adding a .htacces file to the root of the OpenBiblio directory, with the following lines:

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine Off

    I understand you performed a new install with a different setup for creating the database. And now when using Firefox, you no longer see #69. I really can't imagine OpenBiblio's source code to be the cause, it's probably best to search for problems in the configuration of the site.

    There is also WordPress on your domain, and you confirmed there is an .htaccess file. OpenBiblio, in a subdirectory, inherits the settings from .htaccess in directory levels above. We can't look inside your .htaccess, but it is obvious that you should start disabling URL rewriting, as indicated in the previous message.

    It's still not working right. I'm not database- or php-savvy enough to know what else to try. I tried adding those lines to the .htaccess file with the same result. I'd agree it's likely the problem is not in the code, but I'd be curious if anyone else has any ideas about what else I could do to try to fix it. I'd really like to be able to use OpenBiblio for our school library. We simply can't afford to purchase software for management.
