myNoise 2.0 rc1 (Build 103) sound interrupting with short static bursts on Galaxy S8+

Issue #161 resolved
pyroshroom created an issue

I was testing the sounds from the Feb. 17, 2019 release (2.0 rc1 (Build 103)), on my Galaxy S8+ on Android 8.0.0 and there are repetitive short static sounds while playing the tracks. (More obvious when on a smooth sound like binaural beat machine).

Gotta love Samsung phones :) I will source an s7 / j7 and add it to our test farm next week. Already 6 phones just on my end.

Still getting bursts of static noises on my Galaxy S8+ on Android 9.0.0 (Android Pie) with myNoise 2.03 (Build 113). Battery optimizations for the app have been disabled. Tried high latency mode which didn't help. Also, tested both High and Normal CPU modes.

Tested on build 212, on my Bluetooth headphones, the crackles have stopped completely with an audio buffer of 1024 (even while playing in the background).

However, if you use wired headphones, changing the audio buffer doesn't seem to do anything to the crackles, which still happen quite frequently.

@Pyro Shroom Could you try the following: plyg your headphones, then go to More.. and change the settings for the buffer back and forth then reboot.

There might be an issue where the headphones switch is not being properly detected. I tested on my Samsung S7 with no issues

That is much better! No more crackles at 2048 audio buffer if just listening to myNoise without doing anything with the phone, but occasional crackles if it’s running in the background while web browsing/typing. (Ie: writing this comment).
