darker preview background

Greetings,

I would like to suggest to make the background around the video (preview) darker - much like recent image/video editing software does - to enhance visibility and perceived contrast of the video displayed.

Elaborate please. What color should background be and how would it help contrast? Videos are different and have different scenes. Do you want the most neutral color (#7F7F7F) to be used to have better contrast with both dark and light scenes?
