Once Disconnected from Google Drive, Can Never Connect Again

Issue #51 new
Former user created an issue

I used my Google account control panel to disconnect the BrowsePass app from Google Drive. (This was due to a bunch of messed up stuff where BrowsePass refused to use the correct Google account and whatnot. But that's for a different bug report.)

Now, when I try to browse Google Drive, it shows me "<ROOT>" and no files, because it doesn't have access. Even uninstalling and reinstalling BrowsePass doesn't seem to make a difference. It seems I can never connect this app to any account's Google Drive again.

If you sign out of Google, and run BrowsePass again, would you be asked to sign in and grant permission?

Ah, sorry about making that clear. No, I completely signed out of all my Google accounts, and even then was I never asked for permission, whether I tried when remaining signed out or when I signed in again and then tried.

@cjs-cynic-net I have problems reproducing this bug. Could you please help list out the steps and your setup? Below is what I did, please see if they match your experience.

    1. Open BrowsePass in an incognito window.
    2. Click on "Browse..." button on GDrive line.
    3. Enter credentials to the Google Drive.
    4. Grant read permission.
    5. Observe that the same entries are listed in BrowsePass as they are in Google Drive. Click on "Cancel" to close the Google Drive pop up file chooser.
    6. Open another tab, and visit https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
    7. Click on BrowsePass, then click on "Remove" button, and answer "OK" to deny BrowsePass from accessing your Google Drive.
    8. Get back to BrowsePass tab, click on the same "Browse..." button. Nothing happens because the last grant is no longer valid, and pop-up is blocked.
    9. So click on that button one more time, the grant permission pop-up is shown.
    10. Click "Allow". And then there are the files just like before.

    Did I miss anything?
