Title: LOVE.
Date: Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 17, 2015
Review: this is a wonderful book.I have been "reading" this with my toddler since early September and the leaves got a hint of red.now mid November we are at the most colorful time of the year.Toddler has been out hiking/walking a lot in the past few weeks and collecting acorns and oak balls.it was fun to see the children in the book collecting things below an oak tree - we've decided they must be oak balls and acorns:)
I like that it's only pictures and no words, it allows for a lot of interpretation and also gives the child plenty of time to look at each page.we find something new each time we read it.
also, although the rainy season had not yet begun when we began reading this book, Toddler loved the picture of the puppy pulling his human through a puddle. Now outside we find puddles and Toddler says "pull, pull".She wants to pull *me* though a puddle!
We already have "Winter" which we will start reading Dec 1.I also plan to get "Spring" and "Summer".
Another excellent seasons book is "I Am A Bunny."I wondered if we really needed two books on seasons, and the answer is YES.Buy both, you will not be disappointed.

Title: Disappointing, given how good the other three books are
Date: Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 9, 2017
Review: I love the books in this series. We have all 4 seasons. They are all very beautiful and very thoughtfully done, with a wide range of activities and visuals depicting each season. I bought "Autumn" last, after falling in love with the other three, and I have to say... I am disappointed. I don't know if I got a bad print copy, but the cover of my book has very dull and under-saturated colors. Very brown and grey, nothing like the photo on Amazon or the color quality of the other three books in the series. Also, it's a book about fall, and there's not a single pumpkin in it! No reference to Halloween either, or to Thanksgiving for that matter. The Winter book clearly shows Christmas, so it's not like they're against showing specific holidays... Is it some kind of puritan ultra-religious thing where they're against Halloween because it's "pagan"? That would just be stupid, and would automatically kill my love of the books (and potentially banish them to the trash bin). My daughter was very disappointed at the lack of pumpkins and Halloween references in it. They are an essential part of the fall experience to a little kid.

Title: Beautiful book illustrating some of the lovely things to enjoy in the Autumn season.
Date: Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 26, 2015
Review: We purchased this book as a beautiful seasonal tool towards our Montessori/Waldorf influenced homeschooling that we are going to begin this year with our daughter. It is beautifully illustrated with portrayals of simple autumn scenes and activities such as collecting acorns, making things like pinwheels, sculptures and kites out of different materials from the home and from nature, walking in the rain, helping to cook with a parent, etc. There is no storyline, which makes it a great tool for building language skills such as using descriptive words, making inferences and general storytelling.I am really looking forward to introducing it to my daughter this fall and referencing it as we cook together, make sculptures, and collect acorns ourselves! It fits well with Waldorf and Montessori because of these things, but as it doesn't focus on any types of holidays, it can work well in homes of any religious or non-religious background, while some other books that are recommended for Waldorf schooling get complaints for being too Christian or too Pagan by different people. That being said, it is just a lovely book in general, and would be enjoyed by families doing any type of schooling (home/public/private) in any educational philosophy.I plan on purchasing the other books in the series for the next winter, spring, and summer seasons.

Title: Beautiful, developmentally appropriate books
Date: Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 1, 2020
Review: This book set is beautiful and enjoyable for many ages, but it’s especially nice that toddlers can enjoy the lovely illustrations without words to distract them. And they also have lots of chances to practice vocabulary and language development through the real-life, family images.I first learned about these books through our children’s AMI Montessori school and later had them in my Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atrium. The Seasons book that has all these illustrations in one book with a story is also beautiful and is well suited to the 3-6 year old, but is so lovely it can be enjoyed by older children and adults, too.

Title: No words, just pictures
Date: Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 10, 2021
Review: Okay the photos and art are adorable and nicely done - but there's no words in the book... Which isn't very engaging. I was hoping to have a set of seasons books to teach my son about the seasons but it's just pictures. I guess we will have to use our imagination.

Title: Gorgeous illustrations!
Date: Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 27, 2019
Review: I bought this book for my toddlers seasonal board book display/collection. The illustrations are so gorgeous, and calming. I enjoyed them so much that I plan on purchasing the rest of this series! There aren’t words, but that leaves room for me to make up a new story every time we open it. There’s a lot going on on each page so neither of us find it a boring read. The pages are thick and durable and I expect it to hold up very well.

Title: My first choice for gifts.
Date: Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 11, 2017
Review: Gerda Muller's illustrations, in her set of 4 seasons books are my very favorite books to read to babies/toddlers and the books I most choose to give for baby showers and gifts. Her work is both simple, and yet complex.Very human and full of life. We are a family that loves books, and getting babies and toddlers off to a great start reading and loving great stories and beautiful illustrations is important.Gerda's books allow you to make up stories and tell your own while looking at her wonderful illustrations.
