PoN to create demand for nodes

Can we create a supply / demand market for nodes? NXT makes accounts able to forge, you can have multiple accounts forging on a single node? What forces nodes to exist and do work other than people protecting their investment??? WE can direct pay for nodes but that is a short term measure... One possible solution is to create an AE demand for an item that is PoN for the work a node has done - the current possible solution to this is jl777-nodecoin

Can we agree upon the term "Proof of Node (PoN)"? I could think of "Proof of Participation (PoP)" as well.
I would like to have a contrasting theme to energy-wasting PoW.

I called node coin PoW in error - Nodecoin doesn't compete or burn CPU like PoW and people have called it PoW in error and probably led to some of the issues...
It actually is PoN or PoP - or even PoI lol something NEM is trying to solve....
One interesting bit is the view of the network and its performance that the node coin server see, apart from the network protection angle this also could be interesting and a side effect is that NXTmixer gets to run off the back of it too.
We could commission some work to create a site with this view off the back of the data in the node coin server
I guess one of the things we are trying to ensure is that any add on services get as decentralised as possible

As I do not see another option as PoW (well, I would prefer Proof of Node (PoN) since we do not need to burn energy), I would suggest delegating nodecoin to the Marketing-Committee that they promote nodecoin as good as possible. Additionally, we might be able to fund some complementary projects that are in fact PoN as well.
