gnomekeyring.IOError (ubuntu 10.04)

Anonymous created an issue

Maybe the fault of ubuntu keyring management (seahorse, it's new at ubuntu 10.04)?

$ gnome-encfs -a ~/.dropbox_encrpyted/Dropbox/encrypted ~/Dropbox

-->

Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/bin/gnome-encfs", line 58, in <module> KEYRING = gk.get_default_keyring_sync() gnomekeyring.IOError

    Looks like either the Gnome keyring is not running or gnome-encfs gets executed in an environment where the environment variables needed to talk to the keyring are not set.

    To check if Gnome keyring is running do

    $ pidof gnome-keyring-daemon
    1511

    If you don't see a PID .. no keyring.

    To check if the mentioned environment variables are set, run this in the environment where gnome-encfs fails:

    $ env | grep KEYRING
    GNOME_KEYRING_CONTROL=/tmp/keyring-rFj13b
    GNOME_KEYRING_PID=1511

    If you don't see the environment variables you're probably outside a Gnome session.
